Temporary numbers and number swaps

If your deployment schedule needs to move ahead of the carrier's timeline, we can build your system on temporary Zoom-provisioned DIDs and then swap in your real numbers once the port completes — the configuration behind each user or resource stays intact through the swap.

This is a useful option, but it comes with a tradeoff worth understanding: temporary numbers are not permanent, and they go away at the end of the project. Users who have been placing and receiving calls on a temporary number, or who have shared it externally, will see it change. If we use this approach, we'll plan communication and training around the swap so the transition isn't a surprise.
